Access the Cloud Desktop from Any Device, Anywhere
Users access their CloudConnect Desktop with ease by launching the secure Cloud Desktop using any device. The Citrix protocol or HTML 5 client will adapt to the device at hand, allowing users to readily access their Windows-based cloud desktop and associated files and applications.
Citix ICA is a proprietary protocol designed for passing data between server and clients. It is not bound to any one platform, enabling ordinary Windows applications to be run on a Windows server, and for any supported client to gain access to those applications. Besides Windows, ICA is also supported on Mac, Unix, Linux, and most tablets and smartphones.
- Receiver Access - After navigating to their provider's customized login gateway, users will be prompted to install the Citrix plugin. If it's the first time accessing CloudConnect from a specific device, users may follow the prompts and install the plugin. Once installed, users may enter their login credentials and launch their Cloud Desktop.
- Web Access - To access the platform directly using HTML5 web access (no plug-in required), users may navigate to the CloudConnect logon access gateway. From here, users may enter their logon credentials and launch the Cloud Desktop. This is ideal for use with devices that do not allow installation locally, such as Chromebooks or kiosk workstations.
Should users choose not to utilize Citrix for cloud desktop delivery, Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) provides remote display and input capabilities over network connections for Windows-based applications running on a server. RDP is designed to support different types of network topologies and multiple LAN protocols and is an effective and affordable method of providing Cloud Desktop access.
